The first sales call was a qualification call.
The Holistic Care sells B2B services to corporate clients with multi-stage buying journeys. The sales team's first call was always the same: how many employees, what is the current vendor, what is the budget range, who makes the decision, what is the timeline.
Only one in five first calls actually progressed to a demo. The other four were polite but doomed: wrong segment, no budget, junior contact without buying authority, or someone exploring rather than buying. The sales calendar was full but the pipeline was not.
Worse, every minute spent qualifying a wrong-fit prospect was a minute not spent on a real opportunity sitting in the queue behind. The funnel was leaking time at exactly the stage where time was most valuable.
We were spending demo slots qualifying leads. By the time we figured out the prospect was wrong, the slot was burned and a real lead had waited.
What we built, in four moves.
The qualifying questions did the work our sales team used to do on the first call. By the time we picked up the phone, we already knew the budget, timeline, and use case. Our demos finally meant something.
